Farming in Cheshire
'Farming in Cheshire - Past & Present' exhibition

11 April - 6 July 2008

Salt Museum, 162 London Road, Northwich, CW9 8AB.

A showcase of all things rural gets underway at the Salt Museum on Friday 11 April.

Farming has, for centuries, played a vital role in the economy and way of life in Cheshire. This exhibition celebrates the county's rich agricultural heritage through a display of evocative images and fascinating memorabilia. We also bring things up-to-date by examining current trends in farming. We have recorded farming life in the year 2007-08 by visiting beef, dairy, poultry, cheese, fruit and ice-cream farms, cattle auctions, tractor showrooms and farmers' markets. The results of this 'fieldwork' will be shown through display panels and around 20 mini films.

The exhibition runs until 6 July and admission is free.

A series of talks by Cheshire farmers will accompany this exhibition. For more details visit Salt Museum web site
