Favourite days out in Cheshire is an informal and independent group of twenty four leading visitor attractions in and around the historical county of Cheshire. Founded twenty years ago, we work together to promote our business and encourage You - our customers to come to enjoy our attractions. We bring you information, special offers and a chance to win tickets to the attractions. We work closely with our principal

-tourism board, Visit Chester & Cheshire, local government tourism officers and tourist information centres across the region.

Quality is vital to us - all members who are eligible have qualified for the coveted VISITBRITAIN Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Service Quality Marque (VAQAS) displaying the Red and White Rose symbol with pride.

Sharks to Shires

24 favourite attractions combine in £2,400,000 campaign to boost Cheshire tourism.

Favourite Days out in Cheshire - the tourism consortium of leading attractions in and around Cheshire announced new plans to boost tourism at its Spring meeting held on 23rd January at Bridgemere Garden World.

Chairman Julie Burgess-Wilson, Director of Catalyst Science Discovery Centre in Widnes, welcomed four new members - Blue Planet Aquarium, Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre & Countryside Park, The Lady Lever Art Gallery and The Old Fire Station Chocolate Shop in Tarporley. She commented 'this makes a strong tourism team even stronger with the UK's top aquarium, the leading Shire Horse centre, superb hand made chocolates and a world class Art collection. Cheshire has a tremendous tourism offering - and within this, we have a wonderful group of attractions, now ranging from Sharks to Shires, and Chocolates to Constables!

The new 2008 leaflet was launched, new displays have been commissioned and there will be an exciting programme of displays and Cheshire Passport competitions at top shows across the region throughout the year.

'Now with more members than ever - this makes our 21st anniversary programme the strongest yet' added Julie. 'The vouchers in the new leaflets are worth over £2,400,000! That's real support for our vital tourism business! Favourite Days out in Cheshire were recognised with the Bronze Award in the
Tourist Team of the Year award at the Cheshire Awards for Tourism Skills (CATS) 2006,
held at Tatton Park. 'A sterling effort by the team fromn our eighteen attractions' said Dr Joanna Sharples, Consortium Chairman. 'Remember that Victoria Crosses are also Bronze awards'



Contemporary Art comes to Tatton Park this summer. The first Tatton Park Biennial, staged in Tatton's historic gardens and grounds, sees 30 artists, writers and performers developing new work inspired by the plant collections themselves. Workshops, performances, events, tours and a film programme will take place throughout the Biennial.
